I love my Xperia Ray

I got this for 2 months now after my husband swap my xperia pro to this one and I would say apart from the battery life, this phone is brilliant! The phone is very light, weighs about 100g and the screen size is about 3.3” that supports HD. It comes with a 1Ghz processor with internal memory storage of 300MB free and has a memory card slot that would take up to 32GB (can be purchased separately), but the one that comes with this when I bought it was a 4GB SD card class 2, so I purchased a 32GB SD class 4 which I think is a lot faster in downloads than the class 2 card. This phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, not sure what the difference with other platform but judging with how quick it surfs on the net it is faster than my old blackberry bold.

The camera is very good, although it would not be as brilliant as a DSLR result, but hey, this is a phone and for an 8.1 megapixel camera this is very good once you know how to adjust it to the correct settings. The phone has the usual, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, supports 3G but the amazing thing about having an android phone like this for me is that I can have more control over my phone, only download apps which I think is useful like the Skype apps which enables me to use the video chat, which is by the way the main reason why I switch from using a blackberry to an android phone. I would probably rate this phone 8 over 10 for the reason that the battery for me would only last a day with internet use and probably 2 days without using the internet. Otherwise the features are brilliant!

I recently got this email and thought this really came from BT, but when I clicked the link provided, my computer warned me that this has been reported as a an email hoax. So I went to the BT website to check this out and found a way to confirm if this really came from them.

I did that procedure and found out that the email address is not from BT, so I have reported this to BT! Also, I have checked my BT account and found out that my recent payment was successful and recorded. So if you got this BT Alert email, do not click the link!

Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro also known as Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro SK17i is a great android phone, comes with 512MB phone memory and a 2GB SD card (but is expandable up to 32GB). Amazingly fast as this runs on 1Ghz processor and running the latest Android 2.3 platform. Also capable of recording HD movies and the screen is a scratch proof mobile Bravia, I would say the picture quality is actually very good!

What I like this phone is that it has a QWERTY keyboard, which enables me to type faster compare to the ordinary phone keyboard or on an on-screen keyboard. It can also be use to tether with your laptop or use it as a modem, all you have to do is connect your phone via USB cable to your laptop-desktop and share your 3G internet from the phone to a computer. You can find this on the settings on your xperia mini pro, under the wireless & network section.

Battery is ok, when used a lot on internet, it would only last a day, but with a little facebook use and email checks, it would give you a reasonable 2 days use. I actually like the phone due to its size and style and my husband does too, so he swapped my Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro to his Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray. Anyway, the xperia mini pro is not as pricey as some other android phone so I would recommend it to anyone who wants a cheaper android phone that works brilliantly with mobile internet, music and some apps. Compact although a little heavy compare to other android phones, but it does not really matter as it looks really great for its price!

Consider these words of wisdom that Jesus offered for living your best life.

1. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. (Matthew 6:34) Too often in life (and especially around Christmas), we worry about issues that work themselves out over time. Worrying does not change anything. It is a waste of time, energy, and life itself. Plan your steps, but refuse to allow the fear of what might go wrong to consume you. Instead, focus on what you can do in the present moment to create the kind of future you want.

Give of yourself - your time, energy, affection, and resources and they will truly know you love them.

7. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32) The truth sets you free in many ways. Be truthful with yourself about the issues of your life. Speak your truth in your relationships. Countless relationships fail because people refuse to speak from their hearts. Be truthful about what you want and what you are afraid of, and you will gain the strength to step fully into the rich, abundant life you were created to live.

Seek divine wisdom to guide your interactions with others and the decisions you need to make. Choose to live and love fully and freely. God gave His sacred Son to us. Let’s live our best life for Him.

I got this off from a leaflet from Yorkshire water and I think this is a good way of letting people know how to avoid frozen or bust pipes. 5 simple ways to fight the frost

Before the cold snap:

1. Wrap up warm- make your pipe work, cisterns, tanks and water meters in unheated areas feel the benefit by wrapping them in a waterproof foam lagging or insulation.

2. Get to know your stop top – if you do suffer from bust pip, you need to know where to turn your water off. Your stop tap is usually located under the kitchen sink. Keep a plumber’s number handy too.

During a cold snap:

3. Keep your home heated- set your central heating to at least a constant low temperature, particularly overnight or when your out.

4. Frozen up? If you think your pipes are frozen, try defrosting them gently with a hairdryer or fan heater and never use a naked flame.

A week after Sendong and help for Sendong victims

After the flush flood on December 17, 2011 around midnight, the typhoon Sendong has left many people homeless and worst is that many people died with that incident and there are still a lot missing. So what has happened after a week? Today it has been on the news that 1,054 people were reported missing and were from hardest hit areas of Cagayan de Oro City (626) and Iligan City (406). Estimated fatalities of 1,080, 445 have yet to be identified in Cagayan de Oro City and 312 in Iligan City. There is still no water in most areas of Cagayan de Oro which makes it harder for people to move on and clean their houses and streets. However, there is somehow some good news, as some Filipino’s nationwide and overseas has been helping those who were affected. Note that they are still accepting any sort of donations; so if you want to share something, you can give any old clothing’s, food, money, bottled water, blanket and whatever you can think of that those people needed. As of where to drop by your donations, the best thing to do is to go to the nearest evacuation center or command center in your area if you are in Cagayan de Oro or Iligan, but if you are abroad, there are Filipino communities helping and gathering whatever they can to send back to the Sendong Victims, so you might as well inquire to those Filipino communities near your area. I think there are also some online thing where you can send cash donations, one of the trusted one I saw is the Xavier University School in Cagayan de Oro, the school has launched a new website intended to help the Sendong Victims at tabangsendong.xu.edu.ph so please check that as well.

How to Stick Party balloons and streamers on wall

Using a masking tape you can hang balloons on walls as well as party streamers. Yes I have done this many times and it has not taken any paint off from my wall, nor has made any sign or dirt from the sticky part of the masking tape. The trick of sticking balloons on wall is to cut about 3 to 4 inches strip of masking tape and roll it to each end, make sure that the outer part is the sticky part, then stick it to the balloon and then to the wall. You can use the same procedure as hanging a streamer, but it may require more strips of masking tape as a streamer is usually heavier than a balloon. The balloons should stick on a wall or ceiling using the masking tape procedure for a day or two, so I would recommend that you start sticking on the day of your party.

On the picture the big balloons are not floating, they are stick on the ceiling using a masking tape.

Import VAT: buying and receiving things from abroad

Excise duty and import VAT- these are the things you should look out when purchasing items abroad. I have been charge with this when I bought an item online from U.S.A, unaware that goods with a value of £18 or more would be charge with customs charges, plus the handling charge of the postal service which is around £8. But if you only purchase and item within the EU, imports duties do not usually apply. Most websites would post their regulations about duties and import VAT and is usually showed before you check out, but some online seller would sometime post this on a very tiny font somewhere on their web page, and most buyers would not bother to read it. So, it would be a surprise when the letter that contains charges is received.

Now another thing, when receiving a gift from abroad, you can be charge with import duties too, but that is if the amount is £40 or more. I do not know how they would calculate duties charges but I think they would base it on the amount of the goods sent plus the shipping cost.

White Tinsel Christmas tree

Now is probably the best time to buy a Christmas tree, the 1st of December as I have seen most of the shops are having a massive sale of up to 50% off. I actually bought one recently from Very , it is a lovely 6 ft white tinsel tree that has a shimmery light pink and green mixture. Regular price was £45 but I only got it for £22, which gives me a savings of £23!

The tree has a metal base, very sturdy! And the lovely white tinsel with light pink and green mixture would shimmer as the light hits the tree and with 100pcs blue led fairy light on (bought separately from the tree), it looks amazing!

This is how it looks as of the moment, I have not finished decorating it yet but I am very happy with it.

Keeping toddler's busy is hard while you are doing house chores, but I have here some ideas you can try to keep your child busy. The best thing to do is to get him or her involved in what you are doing, this way it would also help your toddler play and learn with you. Things like:

• When you are washing up the dishes, make her/him stand up next to you and wash saucepan lids. When you are doing this with your child, just be careful and make sure there is no sharp object on the sink that could harm her.

• When cooking, make sure that she/he can see you and talk to you as you cook.

• Buy a little vacuum cleaner so she/he can do a little pretend cleaning, while you are doing the real thing.

These are just a few examples but I am sure you will find more things you can do with your child. The important thing is that you are making it fun and interesting for your child and you get things done too.

I am blogging about this as I feel I am obliged as I really think I got a superb quality and great looking jacket! The jacket that I am talking about is this Military Jacket by Taillissime at Roamans.com from their plus size coats and jackets collection. This jacket is made out of tough cotton material and fully lined too which will keep anybody wearing this warm on cooler days and cool on hot days. Remember, this jacket is made out of cotton, so if you plan of wearing this over on snowy days, then you better wear some layer of clothing inside before this, but above all, this really looks great!

What I love most about this jacket is that I could just wear this anywhere! I was actually amazed that the military style just easily mix and match with any of my outfit. Mind you, I am always on casual clothing, like trousers and jeans, but on one occasion I wore it over a blouse, skirt and black tights and I got loads of compliments from wearing it! It actually looks formal when I unbuttoned the collars, so I think I should wear it again over a skirt. Now the thing about buying this from Roamans.com is that it is far cheaper than any other online seller! As a frequent online shopper I have been very familiar with prices and for this kind of jacket you are looking at paying about $ 110- $150 plus postage, but on this particular website I only paid $89.99 plus postage, so I would recommend this online shop as well!

Are you aware of spam attacks on Facebook? This happened to me a year ago and now has been happening to a friend of mine. I clicked a link posted by a friend on her profile on facebook and later on my account has been posting the same link into friends walls. I did not post such link and found out on Facebook helpcenter that this is called a Spam attack. Anyway, I have manage to stop the said spam by following the steps on Facebook help center and also told my friend about the spam she had been spreading around other peoples wall.

Proper Shaving: Tips on how to apply a shaving cream

I have been shaving my husband’s beards for about 5 years now and have tried many different styles from Goatees, clean shave to styling his beards and it always seems to have a good result and free from razor bumps! Now on this blog post I would like to teach you how to clean shave a long beard.

Preparation:

• First is to trim your beards using a clipper. Best if you can trim it for about 1mm.

• Then apply a generous amount of shaving cream to where the facial hair is using a brush or with your finger tips.

Procedure:

• Using a sharp razor, start a downward stroke on your face to about your Adams apple, stop to where your hair growth changes direction and do not shave against the grain.

• Keep the water running and rinse the razor often.

• Once you have done shaving downwards, shave upwards from your Adam’s apple.

• For those hairs under your Adam’s apple, go as far down as you want to shave and shave straight up to your Adam’s apple and stop.

• Finalize it by shaving sideward’s from ear to your nose or nose to ear depending on your hair growth.

• Rinse and pat dry.

Sony CMT-MX750Ni Micro Hi-Fi Photo and specs

I have here 2 photos of Sony CMT-MX750Ni Micro Hi-Fi, now the first one you can see at the bottom (Photo 1) is the exact photograph of this hi-fi sold here in the UK, which has no audio output, but the one that the online shops are using for their advertisements is the 2nd photograph which shows an audio output and audio input socket on it.

I bought one for my husband recently thinking it has an audio output as shown on the online shop catalogue, but when we opened it, we were surprised to see there isn’t! I phoned up the costumer care where I got the item and inquired if there is any chance a headphone can be used on it, and the answer is no, can't put a headphone on it! So I had to send it back. Anyway we tried the hi-fi to see if it is working and just to check out the quality and it was excellent apart from the missing audio output. It plays almost everything like DAB radio,FM, CD, AUX, USB, ipods, iPhones, and wifi internet radio that streams from our PC upstairs. My husband actually like it, but at the moment a headphone is a must for him as we got a little girl who loves to watch TV all day and it would be difficult to have both running loud on a tiny house.

Girls Safari / Zoo Keeper Costume Review

My little girl and I went on a zoo birthday party a week ago and saw the lovely birthday celebrant’s zoo keeper costume which has actually caught my little girl’s attention. She adored the costume and asks me if I could get her one, so when we got home I went online and got her the same costume.

Anyway, it arrived the other day, I took a photo and I here is my review:

The costume is a jacket and skirt set, made out of good quality polyester fabric that is tough enough to be washed on a washing machine and tumble dry as well! It came with accessories like the safari hat, belt with buckle, and a very cute monkey doll that has a Velcro tape on the hand and feet and can be worn across the body with the costume. I honestly like the costume itself and the only minor downside I can see with this is the hat, as it is made of Styrofoam and can easily get creases, but it is still such a lovely hat. The belt is thin but it does look cute when tried on with the costume! The jacket could also do with two decorative gold or dark brown front buttons but not necessary as it does already have a sewn Velcro tape underneath and looks stunning even without the buttons. Overall, I am very pleased with the costume and it does really look so cute on my little girl! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for girls costumes for Halloween or for a zoo birthday party costume. And as far as sizing is concerned, the online shop where I got this from has the exact size as stated on their advert, it was stated that this costume fits most 3 to 4 years old and it does fits perfectly with my almost 4 year old girl. Oh, I found a Facebook page of the shop; you might as well check it out too!

It's very warm today, the temperature outside is about 26c and 29c in some parts of the UK. This is because of the heatwave that hits Britain this week and compared with the seasonal average weather here which is 17c for autumn this week has been exceptionally warm!

According to theguardian news, Britain has sizzled again as the record-breaking mini heatwave baked the country.

Temperatures well above average for this time of year were recorded up and down the UK, with Finningley in South Yorkshire topping the chart.

With the mercury peaking at 29.0C (84F), the hotspot smashed the previous warmest September 29, which was recorded in York in 1895 when the thermometer reached 27.8C (82F).

London enjoyed a sweltering 28.1C (83F) at Kew Gardens in the west of the capital, while the seaside village of Weybourne in Norfolk basked in 27.1C (81F) heat.

However this would not last long, as foretasted that on Sunday the fine weather will become increasingly confined to southeast England as cloud and outbreaks of rain spread slowly from the northwest. It will also become less warm and windier. So enjoy the weather while it's good!

Royal Mail Error package delivery email scam

I received an email from customer(.)service@royalmail(.)com and think this is a scam, it has got a document attachment on it, but I did not bother to open it, instead I went to the royal mail website and look if there is something that says about scam emails or suspicious emails. Luckily I found what I was looking for, on the royal mail website under costumer service/security/suspicious-emails I found this information:

We will never send you an email asking for credit card numbers or other personal or confidential information.

We will never ask you to enter information on a page that isn’t part of the Royal Mail website.

Here are some quick ways to tell a scam email

Check at the top. Fraudsters often use subjects or greetings that are impersonal and general, like “Attention Royal Mail Customer”.

On my experience, every-time I got a large parcel and I am not at home, they will leave a small card on my mailbox with all the information on how to get the parcel, sometimes a letter through the post indicating that I got a parcel that requires a custom tax payment. So I think this email that I received now is definitely a scam!

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best. He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show her off to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men. He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times. Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be! Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest

clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word. The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart.

The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have!"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die. Our 3rd wife? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material wealth and sensual pleasure.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament. (read ecclesiastes ch 7)

Marty McFly’s shoes sold on ebay

I saw this on Television today and also over the internet that Nike has produced a limited run of 1,500 pairs of the MAG to be sold on eBay in behalf of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The shoes were worn by Marty McFly from the film Back to the Future 2, a big hit SCI-fi adventure comedy film of the 80's which is my favorite film by the way! I saw some pictures on eBay and they do look exactly the same as the one on the film, it has a glowing Nike logo and glowing side of the outsole. Oh, if you are curious if it does lace-up by itself automatically just like on the film, well, I have read on the yahoo news and it says it doesn't. But still, having one of this would be great! So if I can only afford these shoes, I would definitely get one.

Shaving and Razor Burn

My husband does not have a blog, so I am writing this in behalf of his experience. This is one of the most common thing men could get when they are shaving, a razor burn or bumps! Well here is what happen; I actually got my husband a brand new razor, although he has a preferred brand, I have chosen a different one this time, just for a change, and I found out that he did not like one bit of it because he got razor burns on his chin and most on his neck. I have tried to give him a couple of home remedies I found online, but to be honest it does not seem to work out well, so I went on a pharmacy and the pharmacist recommended a cream to cure the Razor bumps and an oil to prevent it happening again. Guess what? It only took one application of the cream to get rid of the stinging on his skin and have completely disappeared the next day.

My husband has a specific choice of brand of razor and usually puts shaving cream before shaving, and does not really have a problem with razor burns until recently! Well, he has an oil to add on now before shaving and he was happy with the results so far. Anyway, I am glad to have sorted it out quickly than let him suffer from stinging razor burns on his face. It could have taken days to cure it with those home remedies I found online, although I got nothing against those remedies but my point is, why suffer from razor burn or razor bumps when you can cure it straight away or best if you can avoid it!

Import VAT on gifts received from USA to UK

Yesterday I got an invoice from the post office; well actually it was from Parcel Force stating I was sent a parcel from overseas and that it is subject to pay an import VAT which cost £8.67 and a clearance fee of another £8, total of 16.67. Now I was wondering why I got a customs charge as I did not order anything from abroad! The invoice said that they are going to keep the parcel for 20 days, and then it will be returned to sender. But if paid, which you can only do online, they are going to deliver it the next day.

I have paid for it and today it has been delivered. It was actually a gift for my daughter from my sister in America. I have spoken to my sister and she was wondering why the gift was taxed? Well, here is the thing that every sender should know when sending a gift to the United Kingdom. Your receiving party will pay an import value tax if your declared value of the gift you are sending exceeds £40. I think my sister put in $70 as a declared value so I was charge £8.67 for it. Plus the clearance fee charge of £8 from the Parcel Force, which they say would help cover the cost of additional handling, administration, collection of monies and provision of facilities for customs clearance of packages; these will all be billed to the receiving party. My sister was actually surprised to know that the cost of sending it plus the taxes paid where actually higher than the content of the parcel. Anyway, what’s done is done. But here is some additional information you might want to know about import taxes, I got this from the invoice that came yesterday.

For goods moving within EU, import duties do not usually apply. However, for good imported from non-EU countries, customs charges do apply, these may include duty, excise duty and import VAT. Goods with a value of £18(for commercial items including internet/mail order purchases), or £40 in case of gifts between private individuals (plus shipping costs and postage for commercial items).

To clear the catch on Google chrome

It has been months now since I have installed this Google chrome on my laptop and I always get a problem with the catch now and again. Somehow it will not open any link properly and would usually see a black page, but that would be ok once I cleared the catch out. So here is how to do it:

• Step 1- open Google chrome and click the Tools menu, you will find it on the upper-right corner of your computer screen.

• Step 2- Select Options, it will then open another window where you will see options and basics. Under options, you will see 3 selections, choose or click on the last one Under the Bonnet.

• Step 3- in this under the bonnet, you will see 2 options the content settings and clear browsing data, click on the clear browsing data.

• Step 4- once you have clicked the clear browsing data, you will then see a small window with the following choices:

Obliterate the following items from: (Choices) ex: the beginning of time

• Step 5- tick all the boxes

Clear browsing history

Clear download history

Empty the cache

Delete cookies and other site data

Clear saved passwords

Clear saved Auto-fill form data

• Step 6- Once done ticking all the boxes, click on clear browsing data and it's done!

If you got a problem with plumbing in your household, and want to fix it yourself in order to save money, well think again! I recently had a bad experience with do it yourself plumbing, you see, my kitchen drainage clogged up and my husband tried fixing it by himself thinking he could do it and could save us up a bit of money, but due to not having any experience with plumbing and how the drainage system works, he just made the problem worst! The water leaks and got a soaking wet kitchen floor with a bit of a smell, and to top it up, still cannot make use of the sink. After 6 hours fiddling with the pipes, my husband got fed up and told me I can now call an expert to fix it, wow it was music to my ears! I phoned up a plumbing service and the next day a plumber came over to fix it. Took him an hour to get the job done and he tidied up and left without any marks or spills of water on the kitchen floor. I would say it is a job well done and was surprised to see that the bill is not expensive at all! That is what we should have done in the first place, to call an expert to do the job. It could have save us all the hassles with water leaks and not being able to use the kitchen sink for a whole day. Now, if you got a plumbing problem, my advice is go get a plumbing expert to fix it!

My brother took this photo when he saw a local fisherman selling it in the Philippines. You see, in some parts of Asia they cook this fish and eat it, but that would be after taking out the poison on this fish.

I have not tried it and would probably not to anyway because they said this fish contains tetrodotoxin which can cause paralysis or even death to a person eating it. I also found out on Wikipedia that this maple or puffer fish is said to be the second most poisonous vertebrate in the world, after the Golden poison frog.

I knew some people who have eaten this kind of fish and they said it really taste good, but the question is, would you take the risk in eating this kind of fish?

My family and I have recently recovered from a flu, which only lasted 3 days treating ourselves at home with rest and some paracetamols. Well, here is the thing when I bought the paracetamols. I actually needed more than 3 boxes of paracetamol since there were 3 of us on the family who has got the flu, but when I checked out at the till (cashier), I was told that I could only buy 2 boxes, which is a total of 32 pieces tablets. And I ask why?, the cashier replied by law they are only allowed to sell up to 32 pcs tablets of paracetamol to each person, but when I told her I needed 3 since there were 3 of us in the family who got a flu, she said I could get more if I would pay it separately, so I did! Anyway, I am just glad I did not went on another till and another queue that time as I was not really well and was starting to think that this restriction is just a hassle. Well, they said this was implemented to cut down suicides due to paracetamol overdose; did it actually cut down the overdose cases since this was implemented? Just curious, and hope it did.

My Review on bendy hair rollers for hair curling

I got these bendy rollers a month ago and I only used it once due to the following reasons:

• It does not curl my hair – I have a very think straight hair and it does not really curl my hair. Tried it on my wet hair because according to the seller’s description it is best to put it on when your hair is a little damp or wet. I do admit that it would create a little bit of wave, but after an hour my hair will be back to straight again.

• Some of the bendy rollers Styrofoam that covers the metal got torn after the first use, and some of it cannot be used again.

These are actually very cheap, so it is understandable that you get what you paid for. Anyway, it might work on thin hair or if you leave it overnight. The only good thing I can see about this product is that you don’t have to use any heat or chemical on your hair.

My little girl is a toy story fan and she got a couple of toy story toy collection bought from different shops online. I think the most expensive toy story toy she got is the Toy Story 3 Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear which my husband and I gave to her last Christmas. It was worth £50 way back then, durable toy, although I wished I got her the earlier version with the pop-out wings, spaceship box, 65 phrases, glow-in-the-dark trim, and an interactive talk back communicator as it is more like what Andy had on the film. Anyway, this Toy Story Talking Buzz Lightyear earlier version is still selling for £36 on Amazon, but just yesterday I saw it on Morrisons for £17! Yes I can’t believe how cheap it is there, considering I paid £50 for my daughter’s buzzlightyear. There was only one left there, so I ask my daughter if she want that one, and then she replied no because she already got a buzzlightyear at home.

Getting rid of ear wax

My husband usually got an earwax problem once in every two years, resulting to his hear loss and he usually sees a doctor to have it syringe, but recently he just did it by himself using an Otex ear drops and a bulb syringe that came along with it. It is actually called otex express combi pack and is for adults and children over 12 years of age. The procedure is very easy and I think it is the same as any other make of ear wax drops, but the only reason why my husband got this is that it came with a syringe.

The ear wax drops bottle has a little nozzle on it when opened, so all he did is tilt his head sideways and squeeze the ear drops into his ear. He kept his head tilted for a few minutes and then wiped the outer ear with a tissue after he did it. He did this procedure, twice daily for 3 days and on the 4th day, he uses the syringe to get the wax off his ear, and it worked well! The good thing is that he said it did not hurt when he uses the syringe and got his hearing back straight away after the wax was off his ears.

I bought this recently a mastard chocolate fondue set as my family and I love chocolate so much and I thought this would be perfect for just the 3 of us, and I was right! Life after implanon or implant contraception

I had my implanon or implant contraception for 3 long years on left arm and during those years it was a misery! I suffered from the so called implanon side effects which are mood swings that lead to a mild depression, bleeding for 2 months which by the way happened to me twice in 3 years, dizziness, headaches, spots all over my arms and legs, and most of all my weight gain problem. Anyway, it has been 5 months now since I had my implanon taken out and so far I feel happier and a lot lighter inside! Had a painful heavy bleeding after it was taken out but after that it was ok. I am now on pill contraception but I don’t feel dizzy and don’t have headaches like the implanon days. The spot on my arms and legs has been lessened but unfortunately still has the same weight! I do admit that I did not do anything about it, as my diet has not change and I do not have enough exercise to lose my unwanted fats. So its part my fault! I need to be on a balance diet and be more active, so I aim to get on a gym class by the autumn, I hope this would work out!

Kayaking in Keswick

Keswick is one of my favourite places for camping, hiking, and kayaking. It is said to be the North Lakes' most popular holiday and day trip destination because of the amazing view that nestles between the Skiddaw Mountains and Derwentwater Lake. For the last 4 years, my family and I were always at Keswick during late spring or summer and these are the latest photos I took from the Derwentwaters of Keswick Lake District when we went Kayaking on June 2011.

Cornwall's St. Michael's Mount

I love this place and this is one of the best tourist spots I would highly recommend in England. Anyway, just a couple of things I would like to share with you as of what I know about St. Michael's mount. This lovely place is located in Marazion Cornwall, about 9 miles from the Lizard peninsula. It is a tiny Island with a castle that was dated back to the 12th century, and was owned by St Aubyn family since the 17th century. In the 1954 Francis St Aubyn, the 3rd Lord St Levan, gave St. Michael's mount and a large endowment fund to the national trust, retaining a 999-year lease for the family to live in the castle. While the national trust now handles and ensures the preservation and conservation of the mount, St Aubyn family still continue to live and manage the island as they have done since the 17th century.

This sunset photo was taken at Hayle Cornwall at the beachside holiday park near St. Ives. Hayle is not far from St. Ives in fact this particular area where the photo was taken; you can see the beautiful St. Ives beach.

I just love Hayle Cornwall because I think this is a great holiday destination for all ages! The beach has three miles of golden sand from Hayle Rives to Godrevy lighthouse and believe me, it is one of the most sunning places I have visited here in the UK.

I receive an IRS notification letter lately stating that they are unable to process my tax return and this is another email scam! I actually have visited the IRS website and they know about this scam emails that have been going around and it is a sort of identity fraud. Anyway, here are the advices from the real IRS on what to do if you receive this email:

1. Do not reply.

2. Do not open any attachments. Attachments may contain malicious code that will infect your computer.

3. Do not click on any links.

If you clicked on links in a suspicious e-mail or phishing website and entered confidential information, visit the IRS identity protection page.

4. Forward the e-mail as-is, to phishing@irs.gov.

I am encouraging everyone to report it and make an end to this scam once and for all!

Grinding coffee beans

Today I bought packets of 2 Columbian coffee beans thinking it was the ground one and when I got home I was very disappointed as it was coffee beans and I do not have a coffee grinding machine. I tried crushing the coffee beans with the end of the rolling pin on a bowl, took ages to crush half of a bag, however it was not fine enough that when I tried brewing it, it tasted so weak. I do not really want to go back to the shop and have the one of the un-opened coffee bags replaced as the petrol would cost more than the coffee price. But anyway, I found a great solution to grinding coffee beans, I use a blender! It only took a minute to grind the whole bag (227g) of coffee beans and got the perfect grain. So if you do not have a coffee grinding machine, try a blender, it does the job well!

After grinding the coffee beans using a blender, the result is the same as the ones you get on a packet of ground coffee.

It is always a surprise when Google update its page rank as nobody really knows when it would happen and 5 months since the last Google toolbar page rank update, yes it has been updated again! Yesterday evening, the 27th of June 2011 around 4:00 pm I received an email from HOBO SEO saying there has been a Google Toolbar Page rank score update, so immediately I check my blogs and sad to say that both my PR3 blogs has gone down to PR2 and PR1. The said heat wave starts today Sunday the 26th of June 2011 with temperatures rose above 28c and mainly on the east of England with temperatures topping up to 30c, this was said to be the hottest day of the year so far in England. On Monday the mercury is expected to reach 30C, but by evening the hot weather could be broken by thunder and heavy showers. It was forecasted today that the weather will get even hotter, at least in the south-eastern areas of the UK. I know it is not Halloween yet, but I am very excited to show off this lovely super girl costume I got online for my daughter. This costume is so far the best looking Supergirl Toddler Costume I have seen online and when I got it, I was very pleased with it! Why? Well, aside from the fact that this supergirl costume really looks stunning; the quality of the clothing is also good! The blue top is actually made of polyester but it has a soft velvety texture which gives a soft feeling towards the skin. The S logo on the top is a patch that gives a more realistic appeal to the costume!

The cape attached to it has the same clothing type as the skirt and boot covers. The clothing material on this, is some sort of glossy-metallic red fabric which looks strikingly attractive, same as the golden belt and trims on the top. As far as sizing is concern, this standard size costume would fit a toddler from 2 to 4 years of age, but this is a perfect fit for my 3 ½ year old which is 36 ½ inches tall and about 30.8 lbs. Over all it looks durable, looks expensive and very attractive! This is an officially licensed costume and believe me, it does not look cheap! Today the 19th of June 2011 is another gloomy and showery day here in the Northern part of England. It has been forecasted that there will be rain across central areas of England and occasionally heavy, across southern Scotland, northern and eastern England but for the lucky few places like across the northern Scotland it will be mainly dry and bright. Elsewhere, a mixture of bright spells and scattered, mainly light showers. It has been like this for the past days and looks like the wet season is not over yet as forecasted on the internet that next week it will be another rainy week! Well, I am still hoping to have a really good summer; it is just the start of summer anyway! So, I am keeping my fingers cross that this summer of 2011will have a really good and warm weather and of course seeing more than just sunny spells around the UK.

Family Day out at Alton Towers

Yesterday my family and I had a fun day out at Alton Towers, one of UK’s best Theme Parks located at Alton, Staffordshire United Kingdom. We arrived around 11:00 am at Alton tower’s parking letter C which is about 10 minutes walk to the park, walking with a toddler. Had to pay £6 for the parking at the main entrance of the park, but it was all worth it, considering we had a really fun day at the Alton tower! The park ticket cost £40.80 each at the gate but I had a 2 for 1 voucher from coke and my little girl is under 4, so for the 3 of us, my husband, me and my little girl, we only had to pay 46.80 and that includes the parking token. I actually would consider Alton tower a perfect family day out even if you have little children with you, as they also got an old mac Donald farm with a singing barn, tractor, animals, and boat rides which my little girl really enjoys and they also got live animals too like donkeys, ducks, rabbits, and some very cute guinea pigs! All the rides are free when you get in the park, love the sea life and had a great walk at their amazing garden. Would definitely come back to this place again!

I just thought of making a blog post about this since I could not find anything online about brackets for overbed units when typing into Google’s search engine. Now, 22 people had died and 2000 people ill across Europe and there has been a huge business loss from Spanish farmers. A lot has happened in a week and who’s to be blame for this? Is it the German’s, the media or people talking about it through twitter and blogging?

Someone actually read my old post today and left a comment about the killer cucumber from Spain and said that the Germans are to be blamed for this and that I also owe Spain an apology for that. Well, I got that from the news and as far as I know, that time when the news spread there were thousands of tweets from twitter and there were many blog post published on the internet about the said incident during that day. I bet, that time he or she also think that the cucumbers were to blame, as nobody really knows the real source of the e.coli virus. I have just watch news on TV and the German authorities say they are still unsure of whether the cucumbers from Spain are the one causing the e.coli outbreak. I think it was the 28th of May when the news spread that there has been some reports of illness and death in Germany and some European countries and that it was believe that it came from organic cucumber from Spain. Now, 5 days later they are unsure! I do love cucumbers but due to the recent happening, I have not bought any for several days now, even though it says that these contaminated cucumbers were not sold in the shops here in the United Kingdom. Anyway, I do hope they will figure this out soon, as where this E.coli virus really is coming from and sorted it out soon too, as I miss eating cucumber so much!

Killer Cucumber from Spain

This is not good; a cucumber has been reported to have cause illness and some deaths to people from European countries mainly in Germany and some in Sweden, Denmark and in the Netherlands. I saw this news yesterday on Sky news and although there is only one person here in England who has believed to have caught this infection, it is also good to raise awareness that this is happening now to prevent more of this e.coli incident from happening, so I am reposting this article from sky news.

The outbreak is believed to have originated in organic cucumbers grown in Spain, although there are suggestions that the bacteria has been found in cucumbers grown in the Netherlands.

The advice now to people travelling to Germany is not to eat cucumbers, raw tomatoes or lettuce.

The British Health Protection Authority has confirmed that three German nationals currently in Britain have fallen ill. One of those cases has been confirmed as having the infection which is causing this outbreak.

A spokeswoman for the HPA said the outbreak in Germany was "very, very serious" and although the bug was infectious, there had been no reports of secondary infection yet in the UK.

Dr Dilys Morgan, head of the gastrointestinal, emerging and zoonotic infections department at the HPA, said: "The HPA is actively monitoring the situation very carefully and liaising with the authorities in Germany, the European Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation as to the cause of the outbreak. E.coli bacteria like these are responsible for the outbreak across Europe.

"We are keeping a close watch for potential cases reported in England and are working with colleagues in the devolved administrations to recommend they do the same.

"In addition we are in the process of alerting health professionals to the situation and advising them to urgently investigate potential cases with a travel history to Germany."

In Germany concern is growing. The country's National Disease Control Centre has confirmed 60 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

n Spain, a spokesman for the AESA food safety agency said investigations were also under way.

"The Andalusian authorities are investigating to find out where the contamination comes from and when it took place," he said.

"This type of bacteria can contaminate at the origin or during handling of the product."

There has been no report of contamination within Spain, AESA said.

Those worse hit by the infection contract HUS, a condition which can have severe effects.

British microbiologist Ron Cutler told Sky News: "It contains some very nasty toxins which can go straight to your kidneys and cause kidney failure, and it's very difficult to treat.

"For those who are treated, around 90% of treatments can be successful, but one in 10 of those people could have damaged kidneys in later life."

The Food Standards Agency has confirmed that the offending cucumbers have not been on sale at any outlets in the UK.

It has been 3 weeks now since the weather is crap! Here in the UK we have been getting cool temperatures and has been said below average for May. There have been some strong winds, thunder and a lot of rain especially in the north area, which is unfortunately where I am now! I don’t fancy going out today so here I am watching the news and it was said on today’s weather will generally dry, bright and less windy but there are scattered showers developing across eastern England and Scotland, mainly around the coast but also across inland parts of East Anglia. Procedures on how to apply a vinyl graphic sticker

After successfully taking a vinyl sticker off my car, I have again put another one to replace the previous sticker, and for those who do not know how to apply a vinyl graphic sticker, here is how to do it:

First you have to clean it by washing the area with warm water and dishwashing liquid, and then dry the vehicle surface with a clean towel cloth.

Finish up cleaning by wiping down the entire area with isopropyl alcohol. If you think your vehicle is clean enough, you do not have to wipe it with alcohol.

Application:

Apply the vinyl graphic sticker with a very weak solution of soapy water, this way you get the chance to move and reposition the vinyl as needed several minutes. Once the vinyl sticker is in place, use a squeegee to take off the excess fluid and air from behind the sticker. Start the squeegee from the middle of the sticker, and use it straight up or down motion. Allow the vinyl to set for 15 to 30 minutes before removing the application tape. On removing, always pull it slowly back onto itself at 180 degree angle and any bubble left should be punctured using a pin.

How I retrieved my missing post from Blogger

On May 11, 2011 blogger had some technical issues which have resulted to missing blog posts from bloggers all over the world and unfortunately on that day, I had 3 blog posts missing from my other blog. Two of those said post were restored back on the 13th of May 2011, however 1 is still missing. On the 14th of May 2011, Blogger’s technical manager Eddie Kessler published an announcement on Blogger Buzz that they are making progress and that on that day they are on the process of restoring comments. Then, I started to worry that my post is lost is totally lost. I had a lot of research online and found some useful information on retrieving old posts like using an RRS feed and Google catch, however, I still could not find that certain post!

I was very unhappy as I cannot remember the entire post and still uncertain if blogger is going to restore it or not. On the next day, the 15th of May 2011, blogger buzz has announced that blogger should be back to normal for the majority and that if some posts are still missing, it might be on the drafts. I check mine, but it was not there! On that same post update from blogger, there was also a form in which anyone with a certain issue can contact blogger’s technical team, so I filed up that form and now the 19th of May 2011 got the post back! They put the post back in the drafts section, so all I did is re-published it back. It was a long frustrating wait, but I am happy that I got the post back.

Giant swan at the lake

I just got back from a holiday at the Lake District with my family and saw this giant swan floating at Derwent water in Keswick lake Cumbria. Now I cannot give a precise figure of how big the swan is but I have also taken a photo of the swan with my 3 ½ year old daughter who is 35.6 inches tall. I was so amazed when I saw it and have given my little girl a bread to feed the swan, but while she was feeding it, the swan snatch the big bread off her hand and it started to scare my little girl. She stated crying and at that moment I also start to realize that I should not have given my daughter a piece of bread to feed the swan as it might pick her eyes. I was stupid enough to click a link of who's viewed my profile on facebook and now this thing has posted a link and sort of rubbish survey to some of my friend’s profile. This is what happened: I clicked on a survey with percentage of who has vied my profile from my friend’s profile and it first made me wait, and then a sort of advert came up, so I ended it by making an exit out of the website. Then a weird thing happened, 6 or 7 of my friends on facebook sent an instant chat message with same link and exactly the same message, so I logged out of facebook. After a few seconds, I log back in and chatted with one of the 6 friends who have sent that message and link, she replied and said she did not send any message. Later that morning, I check facebook and found out that I had created an event of who’s viewed my profile and invited everyone on my friends list to join in; I was very surprised as I did not make such event on facebook! I also found out that I posted some sort of survey to 10 of my friends’ profile, which I also did not! Anyway, I managed to delete all the post made by that thing to my friends profile and also have managed to delete that event post. Now, I just hope that thing has not left a tracker or virus in my computer.

Attached here is a copy of facebooks rule on privacy, and as you can see they do not allow such thing!

LAPTOP CUSHION PORTABLE TABLE

I got this a month ago on ebay for £7.94 brand new with postage. It is a portable laptop cushion tray/table with led light, pen slot and a cup holder which I think is a good product considering that the price is very cheap for what you can use it for. This is actually a portable laptop table, but it can be your multi-purpose desk around the house and could also bring this on the move. Multi-purpose, as not only that I use it for my laptop for blogging but I also use it when I am reading a book and as well as putting food on it and making it a food tray. Now the only downside of this is that the cushion part which is made of beaded poly styro is not thick enough to give you the comfort of typing on your lap, so what you could do is put another pillow underneath and that would give you the exact height for typing on the lap. Anyway, it does give my laptop a good air flow and the cup holder is very handy to put in the laptop mouse when not in use. So in my opinion, it is a good buy!

This is just one of the email scams almost everyone is receiving recently, so if you got this email, do not open the attachment as it usually has a virus or a tracker to track down everything you have been to online and anything you have installed on your computer and send it to the third party which is the one who sent you the email, he or she will then get your personal information including bank details and passwords and steal everything you got through this! So be very careful.

From April 6 to April 10, 2011 the maximum temperature here in the north of England is 15c to 17c, a fine and dry day with a good deal of sunshine and feeling quite warm in light winds, perfect for flying kites and going out on a picnic with the family.
